Behind the scenes

My work is driven by intuition and observation. Most pieces begin without a fixed plan, growing instead from a feeling, a color, or a fleeting image that lingers in my mind. I allow the process to guide the outcome, letting the painting develop organically through time, layering, and revision.

I am deeply interested in movement, human presence, and the spaces we occupy—both physically and emotionally. Many of my works are shaped by everyday moments, travel, and fragments of memory. These impressions often resurface subconsciously and find their way onto the canvas long before I fully understand their meaning.

Working behind the scenes is often a quiet and immersive experience. While painting, I enter a state where decision-making becomes instinctive rather than deliberate. Only once a work is finished can I step back and view it from the outside, as a viewer rather than its creator.

This space—between intention and intuition—is where my practice lives. Behind the scenes is where uncertainty, experimentation, and discovery come together, forming the foundation of each finished work.
